Strahan’s Karate Center is Poplarville’s most experienced martial arts studio. We are located at 1620 Hwy 53 South, next door to the Chinese Inn Restaurant. SKC was established in June 1990 under instructor Chris Hollingsworth, and was known then as Horizon Tang Soo Do. In 1995, current owner Thomas W Strahan became owner and later changed the name of the studio to Strahan’s Karate Center in 1998. SKC is a proud member studio of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Our world headquarters of WTSDA is based in Greensboro, NC, under the leadership of newly appointed 8th Dan Grandmaster Robert Beaudoin (after the recent passing of 9th Dan Grandmaster and association founder, Jae C. Shin). At SKC, we train our students in traditional Korean Tang Soo Do martial arts, yet in an upbeat environment –we train hard, but have fun at the same time! We are a family martial art center which focuses on the values of our WTSDA seven tenets and five codes of conduct. As we seek to prepare our students for real-world self-defense situations, we also explore the tactics of other hybrid martial art styles to complement our TSD core training. There are both children and adult classes Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Below is a listing of the current schedule.
Beginner Child (ages 6 to 12) – 5:00 to 5:45 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
