Strahan’s Karate Center is Poplarville’s most experienced martial arts studio. Located in downtown Poplarville, at the First Baptist Church – Family Life Center. SKC was established in June 1990 under then instructor Chris Hollingsworth, known then as Horizon Tang Soo Do. In 1995, current owner Thomas W Strahan became owner and later changed the name of the studio to it’s current title in 1998. SKC is a proud member studio of the World Tang Soo Do Association based out of Philadelphia, PA under the guidance of Grandmaster Jae C. Shin. At SKC, we train our students in a traditional, yet upbeat environment where everyone is expected to train hard while having fun at the same time. We are a family martial art center which focuses on the values of our seven tenets and five codes. There are both children and adult classes twice a week. Below is a listing of the current schedule.
Tuesday, and Thursday
Children (ages 5 to 12) – 5:30 to 6:30pm
Adults (ages 13 and up) – 6:45 to 8:00pm
Basic tuition for karate classes currently run $50 for a single membership, with a family discount of 50% for each additional family member that joins. There is a $20 registration fee which includes a uniform for each membership when signing up.
